Just fired it up. Because of where I had to set it,it was hard to prime and I had to use a small submersible pump at the intake to get it going. However so far so good. It's been several weeks since I bought the filter. If I use any of the attachments on the outlet including just the elbow it greatly reduces water flow and airlocks the filter. Other than that it works pretty good.

    Quality filter. Works great. Had a little trouble getting to prime but was fairly easy. I hooked up all hoses except suction hose on filter sucked water through inlet hose and quickly hooked onto filter, waited until filter filled up and then plugged it in. Worked fine from that point on. I would recommend this filter as it is easy to service when you need to and has good water flow. It has 3 baskets for different types of filtration like carbon and ceramic disks and bio balls and all three come with filter. Reuse the balls and ceramic tunes and replace carbon when servicing but do not was balls or ceramic cones as it will kill the good bacteria that is on them. I use tank water in a bowl and swish them around in the water to get the dirt off of them and put back into filter do not wash under sink water as it will kill the good bacteria.
